We are Devaang and Kevin; our mission is to turn ambition into admission.
We coach a select number of students who aim to apply to the world’s most competitive universities, both at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
We provide deep, strategic, multi-year, one-on-one mentorship designed to unlock the student’s full potential.
At Ascensei Global, we don’t just help students apply, we help them rise. Our name reflects our mission: Ascensa (the act of rising) + Sensei (a coach or guide).

Devaang Sibal
Founder & Managing Director
Devaang graduated from Columbia Business School with dean’s honors and at the top of his class from Hindu College, University of Delhi. Devaang has a plethora of experience in strategy, general management and marketing roles at Louis Vuitton and Nike in India and at Kraft Heinz in the US.
Since 2019, Devaang has been guiding applicants on their applications to top universities in the US and UK. Through this rewarding journey, he decided that helping driven individuals achieve their higher education goals should be his full-time career rather than just a passion.
Devaang’s deep understanding of both Indian and US education systems, having attended top institutions in both countries, distinctively positions him to craft genuine application strategies for applicants from multinational backgrounds. Devaang is a perfectionist at heart, and his eye for detail makes him adept in the field of college admissions.
Kevin Chen
Principal Consultant
Kevin is a graduate of Stanford Graduate School of Business, Harvard Kennedy School of Government and Princeton University. As an admissions consultant, Kevin has set the industry’s “Gold Standard” for getting applicants into Harvard, Stanford, Yale and Princeton.
An expert in personal branding, Kevin delivers a clear competitive edge for applicants by devising application strategies that target how admissions officers make admissions decisions behind closed doors. Prior to becoming an admissions consultant, Kevin developed marketing campaigns for the NBA and consulted Fortune 500 firms for McKinsey in the U.S. and China. Kevin also brings advanced writing and presentation skills from working as a Senior Correspondent for Reuters and as a PR specialist for Ogilvy & Mather.
Kevin’s support and mentorship of his students does not stop at university admissions. Through college and beyond, Kevin guides students on academic, personal and professional development while connecting students to a global support network.

With over 30 years of combined experience, we’ve guided more than 600 successful admits to Harvard, Stanford, Yale and Princeton, along with thousands more across top U.S. and U.K. universities.
Our own story was built on the same foundation. In 2017, Devaang came to Kevin as a client applying to top business school programs. That relationship became a friendship and eventually, a partnership built on a shared passion for mentorship.
